May be standing or "on the move" (judged during your dressage test).
Presentation - Helpful Hints
Present yourself to the judge at your scheduled time
Be sure you have a whip w/lash long enough to reach the horse, brown gloves, apron, spares and hat. Your number should be displayed on the carriage. If your carriage has lamp brackets, you should have lamps in them,
Don’t slouch, keep your hands in driving position, have your spares accessible and SMILE!
Teach your horse(s) to stand quietly @ home. A fussy, perpetual mover will not score well in standing presentation.
**Not a good idea to chew gum **
If you need an assistant, they should be appropriately dressed.
You will be given a positive score (before conversion to penalty points) of 0-10.
Your wheels will likely be measured at this time. Know the correct measurement and ask what the official got. They do make mistakes and you want to correct it before it determines your cones measurement.
When directed by the steward proceed to the dressage area
When released by the presentation judge, proceed to the dressage warm-up area. Most often a Warm-up Steward will direct you in this area and provide several updates on the number of minutes until you are scheduled to go. If they get ahead of schedule they can ask you to go early but you can decline.
