We had 5 hazards in 2.4K. Four had 5 gates and One had 4 gates. I came in 3rd in dressage. 52. Linda Willis got a 51 and someone got a 40 and someone got a 53 (there were 9 minis - 4 in Prelim and 5 in Training). I watched Linda's dressage test and let Angel do the same style. We were the only one in our division that went clean in cones. Not only did we go clean, but we did it in 1 min 28 secs. We were allowed 2 min 15 sec. I didn't even push her - I just let her pick her own pace. The judge even came up to me afterwards to say how nice she did and what a great forward stride she has. We just slaughtered them in hazards - I mean by at least 15-20 seconds per hazard except for hazard 5 where I made a wrong turn then had to make an extra loop - we were only 3 seconds faster. It is so hard to memorize 5 hazards without a 'gator.... All in all, it was a nice day, the vendor food was actually good and we had a good time. The only thing missing was you :-( Martha ------------------------------------ Linda writes: Wow! congratulations! OK - so little miss angel has redeemed herself. And good job for Sue also! I bet she was thrilled. Sounds like it was a good challenging course. I'm dying to get back and driving fast again. I think I have my confidence back, thanks to you! For a while I would think about Garden state and almost break out in a sweat thinking how fast we went in some of the hazards. Now, I'm just anxious to do it again! I guess you had good weather? It was beautiful today. We went and watched Jenny and Jason play soccer in their championship game. They lost, but had fun anyway. Then took dogs for walk in the park, let them run in the water. Came home and ground drove Kody. I'm hopeful that he just twisted something, and had a little "setback" and we'll be back in harness again soon. I'm dying to start riding also. I think trail riding will help strengthen that leg. I know it was a workout for me - all the twisting and uneven ground. I'll come and help out at the ADT next weekend. I think he could even drive it, but no use pushing things. Congratulations again to both of you! Linda |
